12:00 PM: Ted Lewis Museum Grand Re-Opening
Join us to see the newly renovated Ted Lewis Museum and listen to Ted's records played on period phonographs by David VanMeter.
7:00 PM: IS EVERYBODY HAPPY (1943) Film Screening
Free at Pickaway County Main Library, 1160 North Court Street
The festival kicks off with a screening of a new HD transfer of Ted’s 1943 Columbia biopic Is Everybody Happy. The movie will be preceded by a memorial video tribute to museum founder Polly Miller at 6:50 PM, doors open at 6:30 PM.

10:00 AM: KIDDIE KARNIVAL
The Saturday festivities begin with a kid’s extravaganza co-presented with the Pickaway County Library at the Ted Lewis Park There will be story-time, arts & crafts, and a musical instrument petting zoo. In tribute to Ted’s youth working at local carnivals there will be a “Wild Rosie” sideshow, free cotton candy and balloons for kids.
11:30 AM: DR. COOPER'S MEDICINE SHOW
Ted ran away with Dr. Cooper’s Medicine show at age 13 in 1903. The museum will present an authentic turn-of-the-century medicine show with musical entertainment by the Alliance Quartette, Times Past Vintage Dancers and Brass Band. Come and purchase a bottle of Dr. Cooper’s famous remedy, guaranteed to cure all ailments!

1:00 PM: LECTURE BY MARK BERRESFORD
"Jazz De Luxe" - Ted Lewis and His Role In The Dawn of the Jazz Age, 1916-1920
In 1915 Ted Lewis was a comedian, singer and musician in a little-known touring burlesque show. Within five years he was one of America’s best-known bandleaders, a top star on Broadway and in vaudeville, a hugely successful cabaret and nightclub performer and a best-selling recording artist. How did Ted achieve this remarkable rise to fame in so short a time? Part of the answer was that he was in the right place - New York - when the musical world was turned upside down by an anarchic musical development - jazz. Guest speaker Mark Berresford explains Ted’s part in the popularization of this new music, both as sideman and bandleader, with many musical illustrations and photographs. If you think Punk Rock was the first manifestation of musical anarchy, come along and see (and hear) that it all happened 60 years earlier!
2:00 PM: PHONOGRAPH DEMONSTRATION
David Van Meter will play Ted’s records and cylinders on 12 historic phonographs from his collection.

7:00 PM: TED LEWIS ORCHESTRA REVUE OF 1952
Circleville High School, 380 Clark Drive
Taking inspiration from Ted's 1952 homecoming and performance at the Circleville Coliseum, Joseph Rubin and the Ted Lewis Orchestra will pay tribute to the Ted Lewis Revue of the 1950s. Special guest star Cathy Basic Van, featured singer with Ted Lewis from 1955-1960, will sing the songs she performed with Lewis more than 60 years ago. ” This is a show that will be long remembered in the annals of Circleville history

2:00 PM: 1902 CIRCLEVILLE CADET BAND CONCERT
Free at Ted Lewis Park, 443 North Court Street
Ted Lewis Park will come alive with the music of Sousa, von Suppé, Pryor and Herbert as the museum presents an early 1900s concert in the park. Ted got his musical training playing the E-flat clarinet in the Circleville Cadet Band. A 25-piece concert band, under the direction of Joseph Rubin, will recreate a typical concert program from the era with rousing marches and light classics. The 90-minute concert is free and open to the public.
